Pumpkin Video

Sorry, I don't know how to edit videos, and kids never cooperate when you get the camera out!

Halloween Clothes

I thought Kimball and Simon looked so cute in their Halloween Sweaters.

Random

It's always a party when the boys come to play in my room,
they always leave kicking and screaming.

Kimball making a bridge

Simon playing with my glasses, don't worry he didn't break them. Well, not in this picture, he broke them last month when I was sharing a room with him.

So right now I am pretty much Kimball's idol. He says he wants to be just like me. He has to do everything that I do. This ranges from mimicking the things I say when talking on the phone or to Aaron and Sarah, how I eat my food, what time I go to bed, and whether or not I am in my pj's. Sometimes it's pretty helpful. Like tonight for instance. Aaron was trying to get Kimball to stop watching Thomas so he would go upstairs for dinner. Aaron even suggested pausing it. Kimball shouted "No! I have to watch it!" So I come in and say, "Kimball, I am going to go eat dinner, do you want to at with me?" He immediately says, "Okay, pause it." and runs up the stairs.
Kimball also often gets upset when I leave the house in the evening, to go to institute or the singles ward FHE. On Sunday night I left for a fireside, when I was outside he threw open the door, and shouted, "Laura! Please don't go! Stay here!" Aaron later said that once I left he cried, "I'm never going to see her again."

Last week he asked if he could go to FHE with me. I told him there were no toys there so he wouldn't have any fun. He suggested that he take some toys to play with. He then said, "I just want to go with you and be with you, cause I love you Aunt Laura." What a heartbreaker huh? It's good thing he's so cute sometimes, cause he can be such a pill when he wants to.

Halloween Costumes!

The singles wards here had a Halloween dance this past weekend. Of course costumes were encouraged, so Sarah and Aaron got out the costumes for me to look at. I tried this one on, but Kimball said it was too small for me so he tried it on. It's a shirt on me and a dress on him. The boys sure went wild with all the costumes and fun Halloween stuff, they were pretty excited.

Home Improvements

This is the hole they cut out in the stairwell to open it up a bit. It looks pretty nice I think. There used to be a door to the basement.

Favorite Recipes

Most baked goods are done shortly after you can smell them! if you ever try to put more than 1/2-1 tsp salt in something double check your recipe!

pumpkin bread
mix:
3 and 1/3 cups flour
1 and 1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups sugar
2 tsp baking soda
3 tsp cinnamon
then mix separatly:
4 eggs
1 cups oil
2 cups pumpkin (1 small can libby's...at least not the super huge can)
2/3 cups water

combine the wet and dry mixtures, then add lots of chocolate chips!
Bake at 350, baking time depends on size of pan used, usually 45min to an hour. You can even make cookies with extra batter, they will be very flat cookies, and look like pancakes, but they still taste good.

Banana Bread
4 eggs
5 large ripe bananas
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 cups flour
2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
no nuts!!!

beat eggs till thick, add bananas beat till smooth and liquid; 2nd bowl-cream shortening and sugar till fluggy, beat in egg mixture, shift flour with soda and salt add to creamed mixture, bake in well greased pans at 350? I bake everything but pizza at 350

Double choc chip cookies
2 boxes cake mix
1 cup oil
3 eggs
lots of choc chips
bake at 350

Play room

The boys love their new playroom, even at seven on Saturday morning. Which is unfortunate because it is right next to my room:/

Developing Musician

Doesn't he look like he's all ready for a recital? Actually Kimball usually prefers to listen to the accompaniment music. Which I find a bit annoying. He also likes to have the volume up loud. Usually when I ask him to turn it down, he says but I can hear it just fine, then turns it down and says, I can't hear it. Once, when I asked him yet again to turn it down, he asked me if I could hear it better cause my ears were bigger...clever kid.

My new room! Finally!

It took ages for the construction of Aaron's basement to get done,
it took maybe six weeks longer than planned, but it sure looks great!

Get Ready for Lots of Pictures:)

The Babysittitng room in my bedroom...

see, they love it in there, I'll babysit anytime :)

Kimball's favorite thing to do in my room besides touching my I pod and lamp and exercise ball is to get into my bed after I make it and snuggle in the covers and all my blankets.

My wonderful piano even fits!

No, I only have one computer, anyone want to buy me a new laptop? Please?

Nauvoo visit with Staci

Sister Harding, Sister Christenson and I at the Nauvoo Pageant. I served with them in 2007 and they were crazy enough to go back in 2008. (Kind of like how I was crazy enough to go back in 2007.)
I have a bit of a fasination with corn fields
Look at us driving past all the corn!
Staci enjoys driving home through miles of corn fields from Nauvoo,
especially when I am in the car with her:)
While I was in Nauvoo I was able to go through the temple to recieve my own endowments.
It was a great experience to do that in Nauvoo with my parents.
Staci and I outside the temple.

The Joseph Smith Academy used to be here, it was torn down last year. The view is much better in front of the temple without it, though the building was like one of my homes in Nauvoo.
Some pretty flowers Staci helped to plant in Nauvoo.
