Farm Animals

Kimball and Simon also got to feed the farm animals.

Pony Ride

Kimball and Aaron
Simon and Sarah

The boys got to go on a pony ride at the pumpkin patch. I wished I was little so I could take a ride too.

Hayride

Also at the ranch was a hayride. The boys loved it. It was pulled by a tractor, they couldn't have been more excited. I felt like I was going to fall off the whole time and get run over, luckily I didn't. Kimball was so cute, he kept holding onto my had the whole time.

Pumpkin Patch!

The ranch had a camel, odd.

They had a blast jumping off of haystacks.
(The pumpkins were a bit too heavy for Simon and Kimball to pick up)

This last Saturday we went out to a ranch to pick pumpkins. It wasn't a real pumpkin patch, Sarah and I were a bit disappointed, but it still was a lot of fun. The boys had a blast, they loved it.

Closet Fun

Kimball and Simon love to play in my room and get in my closets and make lots of messes.

Simon...

Simon is getting very good at playing catch, it's one of the few things he will let me do with him, he usually doesn't like me very much. He has a great throw, and catches pretty good.

Simon loves to play with the remote to my ipod player and watch music videos on it. Kimball and Simon would watch the music videos over and over again for hours if I let them.

Computer Time for Kimball

Kimball loves to play Thomas games on the computer, and Simon usually loves to watch him. Once I tried sneaking up on Kimball to tickle him and he said "Don't! I'm working!" Funny kid.

New Bathroom and Playroom

Aaron built these shelves here in the corner.

I have had some requests to see the new bathroom that was put in the basement, so here it is. Also, they opened up the stairway to the basement to let more light in, etc.

New Website

So I have been working on this flower website. I have two sites, but they are basically the same. You all should check them out and tell me what you think, my blog address is http://www.freshflowerideas.net/ and the website is http://www.freshflowerideas.com/

They are basically resources for sending flowers online, but I am trying to put up ideas for flower arrangements for holidays and things as well. My goal is to have one place that you can get all the supplies you need to make your own arrangements. Isn't that exciting? I think so.

Pumpkin Video

Sorry, I don't know how to edit videos, and kids never cooperate when you get the camera out!

Halloween Clothes

I thought Kimball and Simon looked so cute in their Halloween Sweaters.

Random

It's always a party when the boys come to play in my room,
they always leave kicking and screaming.

Kimball making a bridge

Simon playing with my glasses, don't worry he didn't break them. Well, not in this picture, he broke them last month when I was sharing a room with him.

So right now I am pretty much Kimball's idol. He says he wants to be just like me. He has to do everything that I do. This ranges from mimicking the things I say when talking on the phone or to Aaron and Sarah, how I eat my food, what time I go to bed, and whether or not I am in my pj's. Sometimes it's pretty helpful. Like tonight for instance. Aaron was trying to get Kimball to stop watching Thomas so he would go upstairs for dinner. Aaron even suggested pausing it. Kimball shouted "No! I have to watch it!" So I come in and say, "Kimball, I am going to go eat dinner, do you want to at with me?" He immediately says, "Okay, pause it." and runs up the stairs.
Kimball also often gets upset when I leave the house in the evening, to go to institute or the singles ward FHE. On Sunday night I left for a fireside, when I was outside he threw open the door, and shouted, "Laura! Please don't go! Stay here!" Aaron later said that once I left he cried, "I'm never going to see her again."

Last week he asked if he could go to FHE with me. I told him there were no toys there so he wouldn't have any fun. He suggested that he take some toys to play with. He then said, "I just want to go with you and be with you, cause I love you Aunt Laura." What a heartbreaker huh? It's good thing he's so cute sometimes, cause he can be such a pill when he wants to.

Halloween Costumes!

The singles wards here had a Halloween dance this past weekend. Of course costumes were encouraged, so Sarah and Aaron got out the costumes for me to look at. I tried this one on, but Kimball said it was too small for me so he tried it on. It's a shirt on me and a dress on him. The boys sure went wild with all the costumes and fun Halloween stuff, they were pretty excited.

Home Improvements

This is the hole they cut out in the stairwell to open it up a bit. It looks pretty nice I think. There used to be a door to the basement.

Favorite Recipes

Most baked goods are done shortly after you can smell them! if you ever try to put more than 1/2-1 tsp salt in something double check your recipe!

pumpkin bread
mix:
3 and 1/3 cups flour
1 and 1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups sugar
2 tsp baking soda
3 tsp cinnamon
then mix separatly:
4 eggs
1 cups oil
2 cups pumpkin (1 small can libby's...at least not the super huge can)
2/3 cups water

combine the wet and dry mixtures, then add lots of chocolate chips!
Bake at 350, baking time depends on size of pan used, usually 45min to an hour. You can even make cookies with extra batter, they will be very flat cookies, and look like pancakes, but they still taste good.

Banana Bread
4 eggs
5 large ripe bananas
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 cups flour
2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
no nuts!!!

beat eggs till thick, add bananas beat till smooth and liquid; 2nd bowl-cream shortening and sugar till fluggy, beat in egg mixture, shift flour with soda and salt add to creamed mixture, bake in well greased pans at 350? I bake everything but pizza at 350

Double choc chip cookies
2 boxes cake mix
1 cup oil
3 eggs
lots of choc chips
bake at 350

Play room

The boys love their new playroom, even at seven on Saturday morning. Which is unfortunate because it is right next to my room:/

Developing Musician

Doesn't he look like he's all ready for a recital? Actually Kimball usually prefers to listen to the accompaniment music. Which I find a bit annoying. He also likes to have the volume up loud. Usually when I ask him to turn it down, he says but I can hear it just fine, then turns it down and says, I can't hear it. Once, when I asked him yet again to turn it down, he asked me if I could hear it better cause my ears were bigger...clever kid.
